Digital asset issuer Midas and asset manager Fasanara Capital have launched mGLOBAL, a tokenized private credit product, on Aave’s Horizon real-world asset (RWA) market. The integration, which went live on 24 June 2026, allows institutional and Web3 investors to use tokenized private credit positions as collateral to borrow stablecoins on Aave, a decentralized lending protocol that the company states holds more than $24 billion in net deposits.

The launch reflects a broader trend of tokenizing real-world financial assets, including private credit and trade finance instruments, for use within decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. This development is relevant to institutional asset managers, corporate treasury teams, and DeFi platform operators evaluating real-world asset collateral models.

What Is Tokenized Private Credit and How Does mGLOBAL Work

Tokenized private credit refers to the representation of private lending or receivables-based investment strategies as digital tokens on a blockchain, allowing them to be used within on-chain financial applications such as lending protocols. mGLOBAL is structured as a security token linked to the financial performance of a receivables-focused strategy managed by Fasanara Capital.

According to the companies, the underlying portfolio invests in short-duration trade receivables, digital supply-chain invoices, and asset-based corporate finance exposures, rather than crypto-native assets that have historically backed decentralized lending collateral.

How the Underlying Credit Portfolio Is Structured

The companies indicated that the portfolio backing mGLOBAL spans exposure across more than 60 countries, sources debt instruments from more than 140 independent credit originators, and comprises more than 700,000 active individual positions, a structure intended to reduce concentration risk from any single counterparty default.

Fasanara Capital reports managing over $6 billion in assets on behalf of pension funds, insurance firms, and family offices. The mGLOBAL vehicle launched on Aave with $40 million in Total Value Locked (TVL), including a seed allocation from Web3 investment platform InfiniFi.

    Midas’ Track Record

Midas, founded in 2024, recently closed a $50 million Series A funding round. The company states it has issued more than $2 billion in total digital asset value and distributed over $43 million in yield payouts to clients to date.

Industry participants note that decentralized lending protocols have historically relied heavily on volatile, crypto-native collateral and native token incentives. Reports suggest that introducing asset-backed instruments such as trade receivables and invoices into collateral frameworks is intended to reduce this volatility and support more consistent yield generation across market cycles.

For institutional asset managers, the ability to use private credit positions as on-chain collateral is presented as a mechanism to access stablecoin liquidity without liquidating underlying assets, a structure the companies describe as improving capital efficiency for corporate treasury applications.

Cost, Impact, and Implications for Institutional Capital

The integration allows holders of mGLOBAL tokens to borrow stablecoins against their positions on Aave rather than selling the underlying private credit exposure, which may be relevant for treasury management strategies seeking short-term liquidity while maintaining longer-term yield positions. The companies have not disclosed borrowing rates, loan-to-value ratios, or other specific lending terms applicable to mGLOBAL collateral on Aave.

    Risks and Limitations

The $40 million TVL figure and portfolio statistics cited are self-reported by Midas and Fasanara Capital and have not been independently verified in available reporting. Tokenized private credit products of this kind carry risks common to both traditional private credit, including underlying borrower default risk across the receivables portfolio, and decentralized finance infrastructure, including smart contract risk and protocol-level vulnerabilities.

Regulatory treatment of tokenized securities used as DeFi collateral continues to vary by jurisdiction, and the long-term performance of real-world asset-backed DeFi collateral models remains to be established given the relatively recent emergence of this asset class within decentralized lending protocols.

Outlook for Tokenized Credit in Decentralized Finance

The companies frame the mGLOBAL launch as part of a broader convergence between traditional capital markets and decentralized ledger infrastructure. Continued growth in this segment is likely to depend on regulatory clarity around tokenized securities, institutional risk appetite for DeFi-based collateral structures, and demand from corporate treasury teams for on-chain liquidity solutions. No specific volume or adoption targets were disclosed for mGLOBAL’s growth on Aave.

    Conclusion

The launch of mGLOBAL on Aave’s Horizon RWA market reflects continued institutional interest in integrating tokenized private credit into decentralized finance infrastructure. The product’s use of trade receivables and invoice-based collateral, rather than crypto-native assets, represents part of a broader industry shift toward asset-backed models within DeFi lending protocols, though the long-term risk and performance profile of such structures remains to be demonstrated at scale.
